Why visit

Sikvuori's steep rock-and-moraine hill on the eastern shore at the north end of Appuljärvi carries a quiet history: a stone cairn known since the late 1800s rests on its southwestern crown.

Look for: On the eastern crown lies a boulder field, a "devil's field"; the cairn on the southwestern crown has sadly been badly dug into.

About this site

Kohde sijaitsee Pehtsalossa, 90 m Vehmaan rajalta pohjoiskoilliseen, Appuljärven pohjoispään itärannalla kohoavalla Sikvuorella. Maasto on melko jyrkkärinteistä kallio-ja moreenimäkeä, jonka itäisellä laella on pirunpeltoa. Sikvuoren lounaiselta laelta on 1800-luvun lopulta lähtien tunnettu röykkiö (9 x 9,3 m; 1987 inventoinnin mukaan 13,9 x 13 x 1,2 m), joka on pahasti kaiveltu.
