Why visit
On the crest of a high rock outcrop, northeast of where the Suo-oja ditch meets the Pyntösjärvi ditch, lies a Bronze Age burial cairn. Its stones are mossy and lichen-covered, and trees of several ages grow out of it.
Look for: The cairn measures 12.5 x 11.8 x 1 metres. Fairly extensive digging marks cut into its middle, and one of them looked quite recent at the 1996 survey. A track runs past the foot.
About this site
Hiidenkiuas sijaitsee Suo-ojan ja Pyntösjärven ojan yhtymäkohdan koillispuolella olevan korkean kallion laella. Juurella on ajotie. Röykkiön kivet ovat sammaloituneita ja jäkälöityneitä ja röykkiössä kasvaa eri-ikäisiä puita. Kivikon keskellä on laajahkoja penkomisjälkiä, joista yksi näyttää vuoden 1996 inventoinnin mukaan melko uudelta. Röykkiön koko on 12,5x11,8x1 m.
