VR:n Pasilan konepaja (Vallilan konepaja-alue)

The Pasila railway workshop area of the Finnish State Railways in Helsinki's Vallila is one of the most important industrial areas in the capital, of great industrial-historical and townscape significance even after operations have ceased. The area contains seven large brick halls, a power plant with chimneys, and office and storage buildings.

The large halls are in the central part of the area; the office and storage buildings form part of the enclosure that separates the entire area from the rest of the townscape. The buildings house advertising, photography and similar studios and commercial premises. New residential areas have risen and are being built along the edges of the workshop area. The detailed plan for the workshop's core area is under preparation.
