Why visit

The field on the lower slope of Marjosärkkä falls gently towards the bog to the north. In the Stone Age the spot probably lay in the delta of the Pielisjoki, and burnt bone has been found in the field (KM 33857).

Look for: The find spot is arable land on the lower slope of Marjosärkkä, and the surroundings are fairly built up. About 150 metres to the north-west lies the Marjosärkkä Stone Age dwelling site.

About this site

Asuinpaikka sijaitsee Marjosärkän alarinteellä, pellolla, joka laskee loivasti suoalueelle pohjoispuolella. Särkkä kohoaa huomattavasti sen etelä- ja pohjoispuolisia alueita korkeammalle, ja todennäköisesti alue on ollut kivikaudella Pielisjoen suistoa. Palaneet luut (KM 33857) ovat löytyneet avoimena olleesta pellosta.

Alue on melkoisen rakennettu. Asuinpaikasta 150 m luoteeseen on Marjosärkän kivikautinen asuinpaikka (kohde 276010001). Inventoinnissa 2012 aluetta ei voitu tarkemmin rajata.
