Why visit

North of the Kyyrönsuo peat works, on a sandy ancient shore bank, lies a Stone Age site. The furrows left by forest soil preparation have yielded early asbestos-tempered pottery and burnt bone.

Look for: The finds came out of the soil-preparation furrows, and a stone-set hearth has also been recorded here. The work was light and has not damaged the site much.

About this site

Kohde sijaitsee Kyyrönsuon turvetuotantoalueen pohjoispuolella hiekkaisen muinaisrantatörmän päällä. Paikalta on löytynyt metsänlaikutusvaoista varhaista asbestikeramiikkaa sekä palanutta luuta. Lisäksi paikalla on havaittu liesikiveys. Metsänlaikutus on ollut alueella kevyttä, eikä se ole tuhonnut kohdetta paljoa.
