Why visit

On an ancient shore bank, in barren pine heath, lies an oval dwelling depression measuring 6 by 4 metres. A test pit sunk into it produced a sherd of typical Comb Ware. The dwelling site is whole and untouched.

Look for: The depression lies 12 metres southwest of the bank edge. At the north end of the site is a tar-burning pit, and to the southwest rises the fairly high shore bank of the Suur-Saimaa maximum.

About this site

Paikalla on muinaisen rantatörmän päällä leveä tasanne. Törmän reunalta 12 m lounaaseen, on inventoinnissa 2012 todettu soikea asumuspainanne, 6 x 4 m. Painanteeseen tehdystä koekuopasta löytyi palanen tyypillistä kampakeramiikkaa. Asuinpaikka on ehjä ja kajoamaton, karua mäntymetsäkangasta. Paikan rajaus on topografian perusteella tehty arvio. Paikan pohjoispäässä on tervahauta. Paikan lounaispuolella on korkeahko Suur-Saimaan maksimin rantatörmä.
