Why visit
The Hovila field lies on an old shore terrace of the Pielisjoki, and in the Stone Age this ground was the river's delta. Burnt bone (KM 33850) has been picked from the field along some 50 metres, in a fairly narrow band.
Look for: The band of finds is narrow, and the site is presumed to continue west from the find spot, where the sandy fields meet the Rekilampi pond.
About this site
Asuinpaikka sijaitsee Kulhossa, Hovilan pellolla, Pielisjoen vanhalla rantaterassilla. Kivikaudella alue on ollut Pielisjoen suistoa. Pellolta on löytynyt palanutta luuta (KM 33850) noin 50 m matkalta, kapeahkolta vyöhykkeeltä. Oletettavasti asuinpaikka jatkuu löytöpaikasta länteen. Hiekkapellot rajautuvat lännessä Rekilampeen.
