Why visit
On the northern bank of Viirinkangas, near the southern shore of Harjulampi, only slight parts of a dwelling site survive: at the northeast corner of the cemetery and in the yards of the houses.
Look for: Look at the northeast corner of the cemetery and the house yards beside it. German wartime diggings are on the same spot.
About this site
Kohde sijaitsee Rovaniemen kirkosta noin 1,2 kilometriä lounaaseen Kemijoen länsipuolella. Viirinkankaan pohjoistörmällä lähellä Harjulammen etelärantaa on hautausmaan koilliskulmalla ja omakotitalojen pihamailla on säilynyt vähäisiä osia asuinpaikasta. Paikalla on saksalaisten sodanaikaisia kaivanteita.
