Why visit

Patterinmäki has battle and communication trenches dug into the ground, and gun roads, remains of the fortification work of 1915–16. Laitaatsalmi as a whole retains some 420 m of battle trench, 1,120 m of communication trench, 15 foxholes and 570 m of gun road.

Look for: The battle and communication trenches are dug into the ground. The front faces west, on both sides of the road coming from the Mikkeli direction; the railway link from the west was cut as well.
