The Keski-Pasila area south of Pasila station and the associated shopping centre and hotel services etc. includes Pasila's old marshalling yard and depot area with locomotive sheds. The southern and northern locomotive sheds and the depot's office building between them were built around the turn of the 19th–20th centuries.

The locomotive sheds have subsequently undergone alterations, partly due to the increase in the size of locomotives. The turntables that are an essential part of the locomotive sheds are in place. On the western side of the marshalling yard is a railway workers' residential yard built around the turn of the 19th–20th centuries.

The one named Toralinna is an exceptionally long brick residential barrack, and the same yard includes two further wooden residential buildings, one of which was built even before the Toralinna brick barrack. A sauna and laundry building in brick, similar to Toralinna but smaller, was demolished in the 1980s for the widening of Veturitie.

The smallest of the residential buildings in the yard was damaged in a fire in 2014 and has since been demolished. Characteristic features of the plot include rows of lime trees planted between Veturitie and Toralinna and on the yard side between the residential buildings. On the rock in the southern part of the sheltered yard stands a separate two-family residential building intended for the depot chiefs, from 1908. On the same rock there is a later-built signal box building.
