Why visit

The wide stone walls along Moippevägen, laid up from small natural stones, make a distinctive roadside view in Överby, at the edge of the fields south of Kvevlax church village.

Look for: Follow how the walls, gathered during 18th-century field clearing, frame each yard and grazing plot along the narrow, sandy village road.

About this site

Hyvin leveät, pienistä luonnonkivistä ladotut aidat muodostavat harvinaisen ja omaleimaisen tienäkymän Moippeen johtavan tien varressa Överbyssä Koivulahden kirkonkylän eteläpuolisen peltoaukean laidalla. Kiviaidat on koottu 1700-luvun pellonraivaustyössä. Ne rajaavat kapean, hiekkapintaisen kylätien varressa jokaista pihapiiriä ja laiduntilkkua.
