Why visit
Lielahti station on the Tampere–Pori line belongs to a now-rare series of brick-built 1920s stations, raised on the site of a former gatekeeper's cottage to serve the industrial area in 1927.
Look for: Look at the pared-down, elongated building: its front carries a cross-gable and a porch, and it is covered by a tiled gable roof.
About this site
Lielahden asemarakennus on osa harvinaistunutta 1920-luvun tiilirakenteisten asemien sarjaa. Tampere-Pori radan Lielahden asema on rakennettu entisen vahtituvan paikalle palvelemaan teollisuusaluetta 1927. Pelkistetty pitkänomainen rakennus, jonka etupuolella on poikkipääty ja kuisti, on katettu tiilisellä harjakatolla.
