Lapin pientaloalue

Why visit

Raised beside the Lapinniemi factory between 1915 and 1934, this workers' district grew out of a 1915 design competition. Its consistent building manner makes it a whole, touched by Jugend.

Look for: Notice the unbroken rows lining the streets and the single-storey, gable-roofed wooden houses, with the outbuildings gathered into the inner parts of the plots.

About this site

Lapin pientaloalue on yhtenäinen 1900-luvun alun työväenasuinalue, joka perustuu 1915 järjestettyyn suunnittelukilpailuun. Lapin pientaloalue on syntynyt Lapinniemen tehdasalueen viereen 1915 ja 1934 välisenä aikana. Alueen rakennuskannassa näkyy 1915 järjestetyssä suunnittelukilpailussa palkittujen ehdotusten perusilme ja jugendin piirteitä.

Asuinrakennukset muodostavat yhtenäiset rivistöt katujen varsille ja talousrakennukset on ryhmitelty tonttien sisäosiin. Yksikerroksiset ja harjakattoiset puurakennukset ovat pääosin yhdenperheen taloja. Yhtenäinen rakennustapa tekee alueesta ehyen kokonaisuuden.
