Why visit

On the west shore of Leppävesi, some forty metres from the water, a round cairn about four metres across sits on the east slope of a rock and moraine mound. The surveyor noted that it may also be a natural formation.

Look for: The cairn stands only about 0.3 m high and is laid on bedrock. The surroundings are very stony and it is hard to pick the cairn out from the vegetation; the view to Leppävesi is good.

About this site

Kohde sijaitsee Leppäveden länsirannalla, Ylisenkosken niskalta noin 0,4 km pohjoiskoilliseen olevan kallion/moreenikumpareen itärinteellä, noin 40 m päässä Leppäveden rannasta. Röykkiö on pyöreä, läpimitaltaan noin 4 m ja korkeudeltaan noin 0,3 m. Röykkiö on koottu kalliopohjalle. Ympäristö on hyvin kivikkoista ja röykkiötä on vaikea erottaa kasvillisuudelta. Kyseessä saattaa inventoijan mukaan olla myös luonnonmuodostuma. Paikalta on hyvä näkyvyys Leppävedelle.
