Why visit

The southern end of a station area that once grew along the shore of Jyväsjärvi is a layer of the city's history: the old railway station, a separate station restaurant completed in 1916, and two dwellings with their outbuildings.

Look for: Look for the pedestrian and cycle bridge that today separates the stationmaster's house from the rest of the residential area.

About this site

Jyväskylän vanhan rautatieaseman alue rakennuksineen on merkittävä historiallinen kerrostuma kaupunkirakenteessa. Rautatieasema sijaitsee aikoinaan Jyväsjärven rannalle rakennetun laajan asema-alueen eteläosassa. Vieressä on 1916 valmistunut erillinen asemaravintola ja toisella puolen kaksi asuinrakennusta sekä talousrakennuksia. Kevyen liikenteen silta erottaa nykyisin asemapäällikön talon muusta asuinalueesta.

Jyväskylä Central Station, also known as Jyväskylä Travel Center is a transportation hub located in the city of Jyväskylä, Finland. The station is the city's main train station as well its main long-distance bus terminal.
