Why visit
Suosmeri village keeps the well-preserved character of a cluster village from the strip-field era: the main houses stand side by side along the ridge-top lanes. Step into the village, whose open fields to the west run down to the Kokemäenjoki river.
Look for: Notice the buildings from the 1800s and early 1900s and the Kleemola, Käyrä, Ala-Tuori, Holkeri and Suniva farms standing side by side along the lanes; the old highway runs through the open fields.
About this site
Suosmeren kylässä on hyvin säilynyt sarkajaon aikainen ryhmäkyläluonne ja rakenne. Tilojen päärakennukset sijaitsevat harjanteella olevien kyläteiden varrella vieri vieressä. Rakennuskanta on 1800-luvulta ja 1900-luvun alkupuolelta. Kylässä ovat Kleemolan, Käyrän, Ala-Tuorin, Holkerin ja Sunivan talot. Kylän länsipuolella avautuu Kokemäenjokeen rajautuva viljelysaukea, jonka läpi kulkee vanha maantie.
