Why visit
Near the summit area of Puijo, on a gently north-east facing slope, lie 26 clearance cairns from slash-and-burn farming. The ground is stony, but the cleared area stands out clearly.
Look for: The cairns average about 50 cm by a metre and have one or two courses of stone. Some are heaped around an earthfast boulder, and several carry old, large stumps.
About this site
Puijon lakialueen tuntumassa loivasti koilliseen laskevassa rinteessä 26 kpl kaskiröykkiöitä. Alue on kivikkoista, mutta raivattu alue erottuu maastossa selkeästi. Rauniot ovat keskimäärin noin 50 cm x 1 metrin kokoisia ja niissä on 1-2 kivikertaa. Osa raunioista on koottu maakiven ympärille. Useiden röykkiöiden päällä on vanhoja, kookkaita kantoja.
