The oldest buildings of the former School for the Blind were completed in 1900 to designs by architect Theodor Granstedt of the Board of Public Buildings. Additionally there is a courtyard building completed in 1940 on the site. Six institutional and residential buildings have been preserved. The school for the blind operated in the premises until the 1970s. They have since been in use by Savon ammatti- ja aikuisopisto.
